This guide was refreshed on September 24, 2026 with dates and details verified against official event pages, tourism calendars, and ticket listings. Nothing on the calendar has passed since the September 21 update, and city sources have since confirmed two dates that were previously TBD: Hopewell's Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 17, and Light Up the Night on Sunday, December 6. Everything below is still on the calendar from today forward. Expect items whose organizers have not yet published dates to be marked as date TBD.
Farmers Markets Running Right Now
Two farmers markets operate within easy reach of 204 Prince George Ave, and both are still open weekly this fall.
Hopewell Farmers Market
When: Every Thursday, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (8:00 PM on special market days), through November 19, 2026
Where: Hopewell Street, between E. Broadway and E. Cawson, Downtown Hopewell
A seasonal weekly market with local produce, baked goods, artisan products, and prepared foods. The evening hours make it a convenient after-work stop, and free parking is available nearby on E. Broadway, E. Cawson, and across from the library.
Prince George County Farmers Market
When: Every Saturday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, through October 31, 2026, plus a special Holiday Market on Saturday, November 21, 2026
Where: Scott Park Pavilion, 6380 Scott Park Memorial Drive, Prince George
The county's farmers market features local vendors, fresh produce, meats, and artisan goods each Saturday morning. The 2026 season opened Saturday, May 2 and runs through Halloween, with the November 21 Holiday Market closing out the year.

A free, family-friendly monthly street festival on E. Cawson Street in downtown Hopewell hosted by Good Ship Brewing and Eatery. The street closes at 6:00 PM with two live bands, food trucks, local vendors, and family activities. The series runs May through October, and the Thursday, October 15 edition wraps up the 2026 season.
18th Annual Paddle Battle
The Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) host this community paddle down the flat-water tidal Appomattox, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, launching from Rotary Park in Petersburg and finishing at the Hopewell Marina, with race and leisure paddle options followed by a finish-line party and awards.
25th Annual Southern Knights Cruisers Veterans Car and Bike Show
A judged car and motorcycle show from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the campus of Richard Bland College (11301 Johnson Road) in Prince George, honoring veterans.

A free, family-friendly arts festival hosted by the Lamb Center for Arts and Healing at 230 E Broadway, with live music, art exhibitions, hands-on art activities, and a kids' play zone. The 7th annual festival is confirmed for fall 2026; the Lamb Center has not published an exact date yet, while the Visit HPG tourism calendar currently lists Saturday, October 3 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Hopewell Kiwanis Club Wine Tasting Festival
The Kiwanis Club's annual wine tasting fundraiser at the Beacon Theatre, with Virginia wineries pouring tastings and selling by the bottle to fund local programs. The 2026 edition is set for Saturday, November 21, the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Low Key Turkey Trot
